I’ve been holding off on this for too long… so here goes. This will be the last winter/holiday season to get our beloved chai concentrate 💔
When I started Spice Girl Eats 5 years ago, it was a way to connect with people during the pandemic, celebrate the food I grew up with, and cook alongside my family. It quickly grew into a full-blown small business. At 23, I was learning on the job… no strategy, and nothing to fall back on. I just kept showing up: solving problems and sharing the traditions that mean so much to me.
In 2021, I jumped into the CPG world with zero experience. .to asked if I could make their chai concentrate, and I said yes (even though I had no idea what that meant lol). That one “yes” led to an at-home version, and just a week after launch, I signed up for the biggest tradeshow in Canada, the One of a Kind Show, which welcomes over 100-200k ppl. I’d never done a tradeshow or sold a product before. It was a disaster in the best way: messy, humbling, and full of lessons. I’ve made so many mistakes, and each one shaped the entrepreneur and person I am today. Because of that, I now feel more confident, more prepared, and more excited for what’s next.
Thank you to everyone who picked up a bottle at a local retailer, ordered a chai latte at a café, or tried chai for the very first time because of us. Thank you to the stockists who took a chance on Spice Girl Chai, to the fellow small business owners and advisors who supported us when we needed it most, and to our co-packer who made it possible to keep expanding. And to the earliest customers of Spice Girl Eats: you showed me I could do this, and that gift changed my life.
As we prepare for the next steps in our business, if you know anyone who loves our product or would like to stock up (2 year shelf life baby!!!), it would mean so much to me. Your support during this transition truly helps us move into this next chapter prepared and with confidence.
And don’t worry you’ll still be able to enjoy our chai at your favourite local cafés. We’ll be focusing more on the foodservice side of our business while we build what’s coming next. (Continued in comments)
