🗞️ Unlocking Cross-Sectoral Opportunities between Canada and Kazakhstan!

Yesterday, Dr. Azizur Rahman attended the roundtable meeting with Alibek Kuantyrov (right), the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Dauletbek Kussainov (left), the Kazakhstan Ambassador to Canada, to explore the growing potential for trade between Canada and Kazakhstan.

Dr. Rahman joined as a Canadian delegate and company executive to ARES with the Canadian Minister of Economic Development, Job creation and Trade of Ontario. The roundtable touched base on agricultural opportunities across the two countries, and with ARES’ focus on food security programs, it is an opportunity that Dr. Rahman would like to pursue.

With keynote presentations from Candu Energy, Mogotes Metals Inc., CanRos Group Inc., and Meest Corporation Inc., this meeting held important discussions that will bring new trade opportunities between Canadian and Kazakh organizations. Alongside other leaders and business owners, this meeting demonstrates the potential for international growth between Canada and the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Thanks to the Ontario Ministry of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade for inviting ARES’ president for a productive discussion!

Today is the International Day of Zero Waste, and according to the UN, this year’s focus is all about the food we eat and how we can prevent food waste 🍲! Tons of food is wasted everyday and ends up in landfills, producing global emissions, and contributing to the climate crisis we are already facing.

What are some things you can do to help minimize food waste? Here are a few actions as suggested by the UN:
→ Plan, buy, store and prepare food mindfully to cut waste and save resources.
→ Support food recovery, redistribution and composting initiatives.
→ Help make food waste socially unacceptable through everyday action.

Yesterday, the ARES’s CEO and President Dr. Azizur Rahman was invited to the World Trade Centre Toronto (WTC-T) as one of the six C-level leaders of Ontario SMEs across manufacturing, agri-tech, marketing series, and lighting design to explore meaningful AI adoption in organizations!

Dr. Rahman, Miassar Attar, Bob Benner, Ray Williams, Lisa H., and Tharsini Annalingam, CPA, CGA contributed to discussions that investigated the ways AI can efficiently assist leaders and workers while adapting to the concerns brought up throughout different teams within their companies. The implementation of AI workflows poses various challenges, but through this meeting, Dr. Rahman and the group were able to gather solutions and practices to help mitigate these concerns—by focusing on ways where AI can be used as an assistive technology rather than a replacement for solutions, leaders can strategize effective implementation of AI within their organizations.

Thank you Toronto Region Board of Trade, Vinicius Morandi, Rohit Shanker, P.Eng., Abhitej Singh, and Salimah Mulji for organizing and facilitating a productive conversation 🌟!
