My mom stopped watching my CSA unboxing videos in 2023.

So this week I tried something completely different.

Instead of just showing what's in the box, I show how I store everything so none of it gets forgotten in the back of the fridge.

This week's box includes bok choy, spinach, kohlrabi, green garlic, beets, carrots, turnips and more.

🌱 We're back! 🌱

This morning marks our first day back at Cobourg Farmers Market | Northumberland County, ON for the 2026 season.

It's been a challenging spring on the farm. Cool temperatures slowed many of our crops, and some of the early favourites are arriving later than we'd hoped. The good news? The gardens are finally starting to catch up, and we're seeing beautiful signs of summer ahead.

Today we'll have a selection of fresh organic produce harvested from the gardens, including:

🥬 Romaine Lettuce
🥬 Spinach
🌈 Rainbow Swiss Chard
🩷 Candy Cane Beets
🤍 Japanese Salad Turnips
🍄 A small selection of fresh mushrooms
🥗 Chef Ashley's Plant-Based Caesar Salad

Looking ahead, we expect availability to improve significantly over the next few weeks. If you're hoping to get your hands on some of our most sought-after produce, website pre-orders beginning Monday will be the best way to reserve exactly what you're looking for.

Today I had the opportunity to tour in Cobourg with Meghan, and I’m incredibly grateful for the time she took to show me behind the scenes. 🙏

From the cold storage and freezers ❄️ to the sorting area 📦 and food distribution space 🥕, I got to see firsthand how much care, coordination, and community effort goes into feeding neighbours who need support.

What stood out most was this:

❤️ The need is growing.

And while access to food matters deeply, so does access to healthy, nutrient-dense food.

Everyone deserves fresh food that helps people truly thrive. 🌱

That’s why our CSA and Feed 2 Families program mean so much to us.

When someone joins our CSA, they’re not only bringing fresh, certified organic local produce home to their own family each week 🥬🍅🥕…

They’re also helping support access to healthy local food for other families in our community through matching donations to the food bank. 🤝

One CSA membership. Two families nourished. ❤️

I truly believe local food can help solve local problems — and this is one small but meaningful way we can strengthen our community together. 🌎

Farming is not always birds singing and nature humming. This winter, it was sometimes frozen knuckles, stubborn bolts, and a delivery truck that really doesn’t want to cooperate. 😅

My 9-year-old Grace got a firsthand lesson in the glamorous world of farm mechanics this winter. She learned that keeping fresh organic veggies moving from our farm to your family sometimes involves equal parts problem-solving, patience… and a few words we probably shouldn’t repeat. 😂

But honestly, I loved having her beside me—learning that hard things can be frustrating and worth figuring out. Farming isn’t just growing food; it’s fixing what breaks, adapting when plans change, and raising resilient kids along the way. 💚🚚❄️

Winter threw it's best punches at us… but we’re not done yet 🌱💪

This nursery took a beating all season — wind, cold, the works.
But with a little wiggle wire, fresh greenhouse plastic, and some stubborn optimism… it’s back in action.

This is the next home for your seedlings as they grow.
This is where the season begins.

I used to think pipelines meant cheaper gas.
After working in oil—and watching how this actually plays out—it’s a bit more complicated.

Pipelines can be good for the economy.
But they don’t really protect us from global price spikes at the pump.

So the real question is:
what actually gives us more control and what's better in the long term?

We currently deliver throughout Durham and Northumberland for $10 per box, and also offer free pickup at:

• Cobourg (Saturday mornings)
• Campbellcroft (Thursday afternoons)
• Pickering (Thursday evenings)
