When life gives you knives, make lemonade!

It's getting hotter out there, and what better way to cool off than with some refreshing lemonade.

Here at the shop, we've got a favourite recipe courtesy of Chef John, on Instagram and YouTube, that is crazy simple and will take your lemonade to the next level.

Be sure to have the right tools for the job! Our Tosho Knife Arts Peeler and the Hitohira NM Santoku make light work of lemonade prep.

Let us know in the comments your favourite food or recipe for staying cool during these hot summer months.

Some of you may know us, but if you don't, we figured meeting the team would be fun!

I'm Josh, and I'm on the social and marketing team at Tosho. Along with helping with strategy, I do most of the photography for the shop along with chatting with all you fantastic folks on Instagram.

I discovered Japanese knives through my love of cooking and food, and my current go-to blades for most home cooking are my HD2s. Low maintenance, great performance, and subtly beautiful. Aside from Japanese knives, I love cards, cats, and my keyboards.

If you ever want to chat about knives or one of my other not-knife hobbies, feel free to stop by the shop or drop a message on here!

Deeply connected to Japan, we embraces its exquisite beauty. The timeless traditions, profound ideals, captivating culture, and rich history resonate within us. With our presence in Kyoto and Toronto, we have the honor of sharing our experiences with all.
This is Sensō-ji, an ancient Buddhist temple in Asakusa, Tokyo. One of Tokyo’s oldest temples, originally founded in 645 AD, it has an extensive history including its former association with the Tendai sect of Buddhism. In World War II it was bombed and rebuilt, and became independent. It stands as a symbol of rebirth and peace to the Japanese people.

Luxury doesn't begin to describe the UN by Rockstead Japan.

As the flagship blade for a company that strives for perfection, the UN is truly perfect to the last detail. The mirror polished convex shaping of the blade. The soft silk wrap around the stingray skin handle. The supremely snug fit of the beautifully crafted sheath. All wrapped up in an elegant kiri box.

Like all Rocksteads, each UN is serialized and comes with lifetime maintenance from Rockstead themselves.

Check out the Rockstead UN online or in-store and see what makes these blades so special.

Takamura Hamono, a workshop run by three brothers, carries on their family's legacy of knifemaking in the city of Echizen.

One of the coolest things about the Takamura brothers is that they are one of the earliest adopters of using High Speed Powdered Steel in kitchen knives. This type of steel was originally created for tools like drill bits and saw blades. It was developed to withstand extreme friction and temperatures while being wear- resitant and staying sharp.

Stop by the shop today to see and feel what makes these knives so special and why they've been the choice of professional and home cooks alike for generations.
