One of the things I love most about owning a small business is having the freedom to obsess over the details.

The food we put on our shelves. The coffee we pour. The flowers, the packaging, the colours, the way the shop feels when you walk through the door.

I’ve always believed that quality and aesthetics go hand in hand — that the everyday things can be beautiful, and that shopping for good food should feel like a little experience in itself.

That philosophy has shaped La Spesa from the beginning, and it’s why I’m particular about the brands we bring into our space.

illy has been part of La Spesa for years, and I still love seeing that little red sign outside our door. ❤️☕️

Small business is a lot of work behind the scenes, but getting to create something that feels distinctly ours is still one of my favourite parts of it.
