We’re excited to welcome Julien Barthe for our Grand Portfolio Tasting on October 19th in Toronto.

Representing the next generation of the Bécot family, Julien along side Joanin Bécot bring a fresh perspective to Château Beau-Séjour Bécot, one of Saint-Émilion’s historic estates, known for its depth, elegance and exceptional terroir.

We’ll also be showcasing Château Joanin Bécot, the family’s Côtes de Castillon property. Recognizable by its distinctive pink bottle, the wine celebrates Breast Cancer Awareness, while offering vibrant fruit, freshness and the refined character of the Bécot family.

And we’re particularly proud to introduce Petit Bécot, available exclusively through Vertical Wine Group. Petit Bécot offers an approachable and expressive interpretation of the Bécot family style, bringing the character and pedigree of the estate to a broader audience.

Chateau de Mus is in Murviel-Les-Beziers in the Languedoc region, in the production area Occitanie (former Languedoc-Roussillon). It represents one of the largest archaeological sites in Hérault, dating back to at least 800 BC. The estate was named after an ancient fortified place called “Murus” (‘city wall’ in Latin), built up on a cliff over the Orb river. The estate, which features a Renaissance-style castle, was purchased by the Julien family in 2004. Owners Bernard and Marina Julien, along with their sons Yannick & Brice, represent the fourth and fifth generation of winemakers in their family. The Julien family practices sustainable agriculture. Chateau de Mus covers 250 acres, 200 of which are planted. The vineyard is planted to traditional grape varieties of the Languedoc’s AOP and Vin de Pays.

The property features 3 different soils - clay limestone, boulder and silt. They experience a typical Mediterranean climate; warm & dry. The winery is modern, with temperature controlled vinification playing a huge role in the quality process. Concrete tanks, stainless steel and open top fermenters are used for almost all their wines. Rebel Mosel Riesling 2023 now available at the LCBO. Made in an off-dry style with a kiss of residual sweetness, this wine offers ripe apple and pear notes and brilliant, crisp acidity. Five months on the lees lends a lovely roundness to the texture.With the replanting of the traditional Reiler Sorentberg vineyard in a side valley on the Middle Moselle at the height of Arras Castle, the two young winegrowers Tobias Treis (Reil/Mosel/Germany) and Ivan Giovanett (Neumarkt/South Tyrol/Italy) fulfilled a long-awaited dream of growing their own top Riesling in 2011. The single vineyard, forgotten for decades, was revived by the two committed young winegrowers.

As winemaker for two of the world’s most iconic, sought-after wines (both Château d’Yquem and Château Cheval Blanc), Pierre Lurton’s resume is packed with impressive achievements. At 23, he took over the management of Clos Fourtet, the Saint-Emilion First Classified Growth, which belonged to the Lurton family. Years later he was appointed President of Cheval Blanc, the First Classified Growth of Saint Emilion, and then Château d’Yquem, another First Growth wine. A legend in the world of Bordeaux. I would like to thank and for their visit to Toronto to showcase Chateau d’Yquem. A true pleasure to have spent the time promoting the d’Yquem Lighthouse Program. Coming soon to Toronto.
