Tea egg with caviar at The Pine 🫖🥚

You do not expect to find a Michelin Star restaurant inside a converted gas station but that is exactly what The Pine in Creemore is. They serve really creative Chinese fine dining using local Ontario ingredients.

One of the most memorable courses was their tea egg. The presentation is beautiful served on a bed of feathers. The delicate flavor of the egg works so well with the briny pop of the caviar on top.

This is Canada's Longest Friendsgiving Table public event where we dined under the bridge in Toronto with free meals for everyone, provided by King's Hawaiian! 🙌 What a way to kick off Canadian Thanksgiving long weekend! 🇨🇦🎉

I was just at Daon Sushi for lunch today at Midland and Finch in Scarborough because I was nearby for a dr appt. Tiny restaurant in a plaza (about 5 tables). Completely empty. Only the owner is working there. He was nice and friendly so I chatted with him. He said he opened about a year ago but it's not doing well and the place never gets full so that's why he's the only one working coz he never needs staff.

I ordered the salmon poke, and it was delicious loaded with toppings: salmon sashimi, avocado, cucumbers, edamame beans, tangerines, corn, seaweed, crab meat, tobiko, sushi rice. Check them out if you're nearby!

Cruising the backwaters of Kerala, India 🛥️

I visited India for the very first time and did a memorable twelve day tour of South India. One of my favorite parts was the four day trip through Kerala which is often called God’s own country. The best thing to do in Alleppey is staying overnight in a traditional houseboat called a kettuvallam.

You get to tour through the backwaters and enjoy a splendid area full of canals, lakes and coves. It is incredibly peaceful. We also visited Thekkady where we did a spice plantation tour and went on a boat cruise at the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary to spot some animals.
