I passed by this location last year and there was a wait to get a table. I finally tried this place on the weekend. We had the Karaage appetizer, Honeycomb Chicken Katsu and Katsuya udon.

Some pieces of Karaage were crispy, while some were soggy. The Honeycomb Katsu was good. The udon noodle was average.

I set out to try to find the best pizza in GTA. After crisscrossing GTA, Mattachioni was my #1 pick. To ensure they deserve to be my top pick, I tried this location 3 times over a 6 week period. They consistently delivered a great pizza! The Stefano Mistruzzi was my favorite. The crust is thin and crispy. The toppings combine to deliver an amazing eating experience.

After seeing Anna Chen on the Food Network, I was eager to try Alma. I saw the show in early 2020. I finally had a chance to try her restaurant. A very intimate dining room with an attentive staff. We had 4 dishes. The best item was the wonton noodles. The parm tapioca fritters were good. Grill char Siu and turnip cakes were average (overpriced for what you get).

Descendant Detroit Style Pizza 1168 Queen St E, Toronto
The crust on Detroit style pizza is very different than what I am used to. The edges and bottom were very crispy. The rest of the crust is airy. The toppings on the Barese pizza was over the top!

The smoked short rib was fall off the bone tender with great flavor. The mac and cheese was a little too Al dente for me. I tried 2 types of smoked brisket and both were dry. The chicken wings were average.

There is a new sheriff in town! Benny’s Barbeque has the best smoked brisket and smoked ribs in GTA. I have been there 3 times in the last 4 weeks! Can’t get enough of it. I no longer need to go to Smoque in Chicago for smoked ribs.
