🎊 Happy International Women’s Entrepreneurship Day! 🎉

While the calendar acknowledges this day on Sunday, Nov. 19th, let’s celebrate it all day, everyday as a true representation of how much impact women have — not only on the economy as powerful purchasers of goods and services, but also as women within the community who create them 💯

Why? 🤔

Because I was fortunate to attend a event where the federal government announced they will invest an additional $4M in funding to the Women’s Entrepreneurship Knowledge Hub in support of women entrepreneurship, bolstering their many initiatives supporting entrepreneurs and the ecosystem, as a whole 👏🏾 👏🏾 👏🏾

During the announcement, Minister of Small Business Rechie Valdez’ speech dropped some gems and enlightening facts, including:

☑️ 98% of all businesses in Canada are small businesses 🇨🇦

☑️ Women make up 50% of Canada’s population yet only 17% of small businesses in Canada are women-owned 🧑🏾‍💼👩🏼‍💼 🧑🏽‍💼

☑️ Women’s full and equal participation in the economy could add $150 BILLION into Canada’s economy 🙌🏾🙌🏼🙌🏿

☑️ Women drive the Canadian economy, controlling approximately $4 TRILLION of the share of wealth in Canada 💰💰💰

…and this is why women’s entrepreneurship must not only be celebrated today, but why it also must be continued to be invested in tomorrow and always — whether as a government entity, a non-profit organization, as a producer, a consumer, and as an advocate of female-led, local small businesses across Canada! 🙌🏾

Shoutout to Minister and Minister for Women and Gender Equality and Youth of Canada for their ongoing commitment in governmental support for startups and advancing scale-ups 🫶🏾

Hey Fit Foodies! 🙌🏾 It’s Janelle! And, it’s been a minute! 😅

Trusting you’re soaking in everything summer has to offer, while also staying cool, healthy, and safe! 😎

Today, we’re excited to celebrate Fusion Fit Foods’ 4-year anniversary — yes, time really does fly when you’re rolling Proteinelicious protein bites! 😋

Since they’re Fit Foodies who have newly joined us (welcome!) and perhaps even as a refresher to our F3 OGs, a quick recap of how F3 was born is during our unofficial start in spring 2019 in . We officially launched in July to later have Proteinelicious be in select homes, stores, gyms, and markets across the GTA. Then throughout parts of southern Ontario — and we’re excited to expand beyond these borders soon (more on that in the coming weeks)! 🤫😉

Yet, no matter where we land, our mission is rooted in the same values today as was 4 short years ago – for everyone to live their best fit foodie life today! ☺️

Although we’ve been quiet online lately, behind the social media curtains, we’re actively levelling up our game.

We took a step back to reassess what’s been working and what needs to transform, aligning those discoveries to our unique vision – from developing and testing new recipes and products, rebranding our current look and feel, and automating and elevating our platforms to enhance our user experience. All to be unveiled this fall, so stay tuned for more details.

Until then, we’re back on the pop-up market scene, starting with the Eastview Community Market in the neighbourhood next Tuesday at 4pm. Come on down, and bring a friend!
