To the Next Stewards of Farmstudio

You've likely had some connection to this farm over the last 22 years — as a friend, or a friend of a friend. You know who you are.

Since 2004, friends, students, interns and visitors have grown food, kept heritage livestock, celebrated, worked and learned here. Now we're looking for the next people to take it on.

It's 14 acres in Northumberland County, on the rolling drumlin hills just south of the Trent River. A spring-fed pond, several distinct soil types, meadows that have carried heritage sheep and horses, fields that have grown heirloom seed.

The buildings include a stone-foundation bank barn, a shed, a breezeway, and an 1861 farmhouse that needs real TLC and reno work.
You'll look over fields, forest and protected wetland that wood ducks, green herons and turtles all call home. Philip and I will keep stewarding that acreage, which is essentially a wildlife conservation area now.
So your neighbours (us) care about this land staying what it is.

People tend to slow down here. That's the part that's hard to put in a listing, and it's the main reason we're reaching out to our own networks before going to a realtor.

If you — or someone you know — would want to buy this farm of fields and forest to live and work on, now's the time. Same goes if you know a group, land trust or conservation organization whose mission fits a place like this. Send them our way.

This needs to happen this summer. Please share it around.

For a detailed information document on the property, email montana @ montanajones. com or private message please.

Awhile back we’d asked you to save the date JUNE 6 for an unplugged bon fire/campout nature immersion.

It will not actually be happening this weekend, but here’s hoping we can maybe make something lovely happen for August.

It’s the summer of change for Wholearth Farm and if you would like to come up separate and apart from any event we might be having, sure would love your help and your company and you get to immerse yourself in this beautiful place.

Who do I know in Toronto who is headed to Peterborough or Trent Hills area and wouldn’t mind escorting 2 Cosmonauts (tomato plants )?

I could then come to you and pick them up at your convenience.

I have Colette Murphy to thank for introducing me to this super tasty variety.
