This year, we've introduced new genetics into our breeding program, while still appreciating the qualities of our Angus/Hereford and Angus/Charolais cattle. With AI technology readily available, it's beneficial to explore different options. Ramblin Ranch Maximum Security, a purebred Shorthorn, was chosen for his desirable traits, including potential for improved hair and hair density in our show animals, as well as possible color variation. Although the color gods were not in our favour, the calves sired by Maximum Security have exceeded expectations. The first calve heifers bred to him are performing exceptionally well, with calves weighing 75-80 lbs and exhibiting excellent vigor.

Lets keep this civil . But lets have a discussion on your replacement heifers ?

When selecting a replacement heifers whats your go to check list ?

Frame ?
Udder / teat placement ?
Disposition ?
Maternal traits?

Then once you have those replacement heifers, whats your feeding program ?? ( Im not meaning give trade secrets away just generic ) are you looking for 800lb heifers at breeding ? Striving for 1000 # plus ?.

How many culls do you do on a group of replacements ?

Convince me im wrong . Is there a better commercial cow out there then a F1 Hereford Angus ?? Look at this second calver ! Udder and teat placement are top Notch, disposition cant say anything bad, maternal traits 10/10 and they are the easiest keeping cows in the herd ! And yes there is a black heifer calf in front of her with the prettiest head !
