New Brunswick Young Farmers Forum and Nova Scotia Young Farmers are pleased to host an evening of fun and refreshments for young farmers to make the most of your time in town for the Atlantic Farm Mech Show!

If you are a farmer between the ages of 18-40 from Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, or PEI, or Newfoundland, there is no cost to attend this event.

The evening will feature a young farmer panel with farmers from NB, NS, PEI and Newfoundland, to speak on their experiences in the industry. Whether you are just getting into farming, going through succession planning, or work in the agriculture industry, there is something at this event for you.

The Leadership Opportunity Fund supports young farmers in attending local, national, and international agricultural and leadership conferences. These experiences provide valuable opportunities to expand knowledge, develop new skills, and build meaningful connections across the agriculture industry.

Who Can Apply?
• Must be a current Nova Scotia Young Farmers member, in good standing.
• Must be between the ages of 18 and 40
• Must be actively engaged in farming, agribusiness, or the agricultural industry
• Must demonstrate a commitment to learning and applying knowledge gained at the conference
• Must be willing to share insights with their local farming community and NSYF board upon their return

Are you passionate about farm safety and helping create healthier, safer workplaces? Then consider joining the NSFA team as a Farm Safety Coordinator.

In this role you’ll work directly with farmers and the broader farming community to support health and safety practices, training and resources.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, coordinating projects, and turning safety knowledge into practical tools and support.

If you are interested in being trained as a Farm Relief Worker and missed out on the Pilot test-phase in July, we are running a full pilot this fall.

With funding from the Producer Mental Wellbeing Initiative, Farm Safety is coordinating a Farm Relief Pilot running September- October.

Those participating in the pilot as Relief Worker will receive free training and be matched to on-farm placements October 13-30th.

The Nova Scotia Farm Discovery Tool is a comprehensive collection of business management resources designed to support new farm business owners and individuals interested in entering the agricultural industry in Nova Scotia.

To get started, identify the Nova Scotia county where you currently farm or intend to farm, along with the commodities that interest you. You can then select one or more topics from the categories provided. Based on your selections, the Discovery Tool will generate a customized list of resources to help you find the information you need.

The Discovery Tool brings a wide range of farming resources together in one convenient location, making it easier to find information to support your farm business needs and answer your questions.

While this resource is designed primarily for new entrants and those who have been farming for less than five years, it can be a valuable resource for anyone.
