The Nova Scotia Farm Discovery Tool is a comprehensive collection of business management resources designed to support new farm business owners and individuals interested in entering the agricultural industry in Nova Scotia.

To get started, identify the Nova Scotia county where you currently farm or intend to farm, along with the commodities that interest you. You can then select one or more topics from the categories provided. Based on your selections, the Discovery Tool will generate a customized list of resources to help you find the information you need.

The Discovery Tool brings a wide range of farming resources together in one convenient location, making it easier to find information to support your farm business needs and answer your questions.

While this resource is designed primarily for new entrants and those who have been farming for less than five years, it can be a valuable resource for anyone.

The Leadership Opportunity Fund supports young farmers in attending local, national, and international agricultural and leadership conferences.

These experiences provide valuable opportunities to expand knowledge, develop new skills, and build meaningful connections across the agriculture industry.

Who Can Apply?
• Must be a current Nova Scotia Young Farmers member, in good standing.
• Must be between the ages of 18 and 40
• Must be actively engaged in farming, agribusiness, or the agricultural industry
• Must demonstrate a commitment to learning and applying knowledge gained at the conference
• Must be willing to share insights with their local farming community and NSYF board upon their return

Application deadline: October 9th, 2026, at 11:59pm ADT
