Look at this gorgeous mix of heritage turkey poults. The parents had mixed genetics but looked mostly red bronze. We were surprised to see such beautiful dark chocolately red and stunning black turkeys!

5 red bronze
6 chocolate / red
2 black
2 red

Now the hard work begins, day old turkeys are slow, clumsy and notoriously difficult to get eating and drinking. This isn't our first time, but we know how challenging they can be to raise.

We may have a few extra chocolate red and red poults from this batch for sale in a week or so. If you are interested in heritage turkey poults please send me a PM, if there is enough interest the supplier and I will hatch a few more.

We just hatched out a batch of local heritage breed turkeys. They are mostly Red Bourbon and what appears to be black broadbreasted recessive genes, making for striking dark red plumage and large table desirable birds.

We will have a small handful from this batch to sell, but I am looking to guage interest if anyone is interested in some heritage turkey poults? I will be doing another hatch for the people who supplie me my eggs, but i will have room for a few small orders if there is interest.

Poults will be $15 each.

Please comment or message us for more details.

Last Silver Appleyard duckling hatch of the season was a huge success and the genetics are looking really strong!

Looking to add beauty and productivity to your homestead or farm? Silver Appleyard Ducks are one of the absolute best all around, heavy breed ducks, and because they are on the endangered "Watch" list, raising them actively helps preserve a rare heritage breed.

Unlike Pekin ducks, which carry a heavy layer of thick, oily fat, Silver Appleyards are bred to produce lean meat with a full, deep breast while still out-laying other heavy breeds by producing 200-270+ large white eggs a year.

In my experience they are an amazing free range and foraging duck that loves to be on the water and are cost savers on feed compared to most other heavy duck breeds.

For those looking for ducklings this year we have a limited amount left, please send us a message soon. We are asking $20 per duckling.

For those looking to try Silver Appleyard duck meat this year we will also have a limited amount of young ducks packaged in August.

It's hatch day and it's an exciting one for us!

We have been looking for Silver Appleyard ducks in the maritimes for the last 4 years with no luck. I was scammed through Facebook the first year trying to get eggs and I thought it was a lost cause. Last year I ordered 2 dozen eggs from Ontario and unfortunately they came damaged and I only had one lonely duckling hatch. I ended up lucking out finding someone who had ducklings around the same time in North Ontario and I ended up driving them all the way back with me to PEI. This has been a costly and time consuming endeavor trying to bring this beautiful endangered breed back to PEI and the martimes.

It has not been without reward. These ducks are everything they say they are. Extremely friendly, my best foraging duck (they barely eat feed), lay a nice large egg every day consistently, and are a nice dual purpose breed (taste pending).

For those interested in helping revive this breed by bringing some to your homestead and who have not placed an order or reached out to us, please do so soon as we have limited availability in this hatch. We have another smaller hatch in two weeks as well.

We are asking $20 per duckling and buy 5 get 1 free.

After taking last year off and moving our homestead off grid, we are excited to be getting back into things. Our birds all free range and live together, so hatching eggs are generally mixed. Hatching dates are estimated. If anyone is interested in goslings ($50 each) please let me know either by commenting or sending me a message as I did not have enough interest last year to hatch anymore than I wanted for myself. Hatching is limited this year as I am only running one incubator.

To place an order please send me a message.
