Fingers crossed for nice weather!

This Friday, October 9, is the LAST MARKET OF THE 2026 SEASON.

Help us get the word out by leaving a comment: tell us what you like most about our market.

It's been a lovely season in Tyne Valley. True, there were a few mosquitoes, windstorms and rainy days. Open air market vendors are hardy folks!

Everyone has been friendly, helpful, supportive, and fun. It's been a real social event every Friday.

We are very grateful to Britannia Hall for allowing our market to set up out front (and inside on rainy days). The washroom access and big parking area has been greatly appreciated by everyone.

We warmly welcome everyone to stop by on Friday, we would love to see all of our "regulars". We will be back in June 2027 for our third season.

The most recent barn quilts. Although they make great shed quilts too. I even hang them indoors sometimes. There’s something about the geometry that is really calming for my brain, both in creating them and admiring them afterwards.

I used outdoor paints on old pieces of plywood. Lots of knots, texture, and character. Weather sealed with clear coat front and back. I think they look even better once they’ve aged a bit.

When we moved onto this property in late 2024 we noticed some vines but didn’t think too much about them because we were juggling so much other stuff. The next summer the vines popped up again so we propped them and still didn’t see a single grape. But THIS YEAR we were rewarded for our patience with vines absolutely loaded with Valiant grapes. 🍇 What a nice surprise.
I’ve always been partial to red currant jam but i might have a new favourite now that I’ve tasted this grape jelly.

Here’s an example of why small batch jelly is neat. The jar on the left is from the crabapple tree in our yard. The jar on the right is from the crabapple tree in my neighbour’s yard. Each tree makes a different colour jelly. Both are delicious.

PS: Yes, my neighbour gave me permission to pick her tree. I’m no thief!

The days are cooling off.
