🌸 Red clover infusion is one of our favourite spring drinks.
Many of you likely snacked on this common little wildflower as a kid. It has been used for generations as a gentle, nourishing herb, and is a key food source for livestock and wild animals.
Here’s why we reach for red clover in spring:
🌿 Rich in minerals: Among our most nutrient-dense herbs! (B-vitamins, calcium, potassium, magnesium, manganese…)
🌿 Lymphatic support: helps the body’s natural drainage and clean-up system
🌿 Skin: traditionally used to support inflammatory skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis, from the inside, out.
🌿 Hormone balancing: It contains natural plant compounds called isoflavones, which have been used to help ease PMS symptoms and the hormonal shifts of menopause (hot flashes, mood, and more)
🌿 Bone health: Those same isoflavones are thought to support bone density in women, particularly after menopause.
🌿 Respiratory support: A great supportive herb in formulas for persistent, dry spasmodic coughs.
Red clover is a wonderful, gentle herb to add to your life. We enjoy it both hot or cold, sometimes sweetened with a little honey.
