Farmhouse Garden Animal Home What was once a cattle ranch is now an animal sanctuary. Farmhouse Garden Animal Home is located in Uxbridge, Ontario, about an hour from Toronto.

Multi-generational organic farmer and cattle rancher Mike Lanigan was taking care of the cows one day and had a change of heart: he no longer wanted to send them off to slaughter. He then allowed his employee, Edith, to take over and convert this cattle farm into a safe haven for the animals within it. With the manure of these cows, he fertilizes his 40 acre farm full of certified organic, yummy v

Happy ninth birthday to Esther! Esther is one of our shy ladies, you likely haven’t met her, she doesn’t often come up for treats. But she is a sweet beauty who is all ears and legs. One on one with a human Esther will give a sniff and lick; she’s curious and gentle. She’s a friend to all of the herd, and we’re so glad she’s here at the sanctuary.

Judy was found in a nearby swamp by our friend and neighbour, also named Judy! We don’t know if someone dumped her (and four others!) or if they jumped off a truck, but they were found by the right person!

Happy Pride from everyone here at the sanctuary. We tried to line the cows up for a big Pride parade, but Wayne was the only one who cooperated. 😂 Our sanctuary is a safe space for everyone, human and animal. ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
