They were selling Parallel 49 on the boat, so I grabbed a Craft Pilsner to start.

At 5%, it was perfect for the day.

That’s kind of why this beer works. You can find it pretty much anywhere in BC, and you know what you’re getting. I’d have no problem grabbing one again.

I keep running into Trail Hopper IPA at events and gatherings, so I finally gave it a proper try.

Now I get it.

It’s not the boldest IPA on the shelf. It’s the kind of dependable IPA I’d happily buy again because I know exactly what I’m in for.

The juicy citrus delivers, and the 7% stays easy to drink. I’d save this one for when the evening settles in.

Steamworks’ seasonal Carrot Cake Ale even looks like carrot juice. It delivers on the carrot cake flavour, but that’s why I wouldn’t buy another. It’s a novelty, not a fridge beer.
