The ocean is calling for help.
Today is World Ocean Day — and while awareness is a start, we think the more important question is: What are you actually changing?
Every single day, the equivalent of 2,000 garbage trucks of plastic gets dumped into the world's oceans, rivers, and lakes. Canada is not a bystander in this.
Canadians consume more than 2 billion plastic water bottles every year — over 5 million every single day. In Ontario alone, an estimated 1 billion of those bottles end up in landfills and the environment annually.
What's an effective intervention? Stop creating the waste in the first place.
That's the premise behind Nayka filtered water systems. Install one in an office, a hotel, a restaurant — and the single-use plastic bottle becomes unnecessary.
Not recycled. Not managed. Eliminated.
But we believe clean water is more than a sustainability checkbox.
That's why EVS Canada is proud to partner with Water First — a Canadian NGO working directly with Indigenous communities on one of the most urgent water crises in this country.
As of 2026, 36 First Nations communities across Canada remain under long-term drinking water advisories — some dating back over 30 years. Water First partners with these communities to build the one thing infrastructure alone can't provide: skilled local people who can operate and protect their own water systems for generations.
When your business chooses Nayka, you're part of a full cycle of impact:
→ Less plastic entering Canadian waterways
→ More resources flowing to communities that need clean water most
The ocean is calling for help.
So are those communities.
Small decisions, made at scale, answer both.
