Today is World Ocean Day — and while awareness is a start, we think the more important question is: What are you actually changing?

Every single day, the equivalent of 2,000 garbage trucks of plastic gets dumped into the world's oceans, rivers, and lakes. Canada is not a bystander in this.

Canadians consume more than 2 billion plastic water bottles every year — over 5 million every single day. In Ontario alone, an estimated 1 billion of those bottles end up in landfills and the environment annually.

What's an effective intervention? Stop creating the waste in the first place.
