What is new to you you are doing to make a small but mighty contribution to this? I’m recently so into recycling ♻️everything and trying to reduce garbage as much as possible in my household. If you live in Vancouver, Zero Waste(8588 Yukon st) will take all the other plastics(including Garu pouches!💕) or other stuff that you can’t recycle in the home recycling bin for the garbage/recycling collection services.

BLACK SESAME COOKIE 🍪| want to add something different to your Christmas baking repertoire? Try this chocolate chip sourdough cookie with black sesame and Garu black recipe by who is a coffee and sourdough connoisseur.

Here's the short version of the recipe:
•in one bowl, mix dry ingredients of 200g AP flour, 15g Garu Black, 60g black sesame seeds, 3g corn starch, 2.5g salt, and 2.5g baking soda. In a seperate bowl, melt 180g butter, then mix in 90g white sugar, 230g brown sugar, then mix in 1 tsp vanilla, 1 large egg, and 50g sourdough starter/discard (hers is 100% hydrated which is equal parts water and flour by weight). Mix dry ingredients in to wet until it just comes together. Add 100g chocolate or to preference.
•Chill the dough over night. Pull the dough from the fridge 20 minutes prior to baking. Place on 2 baking sheet in round balls, equally spaced apart. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes switching the pans half way. Makes 24 cookies.
