Annabelle Choi Studio is a socially engaging food caterer and creative consultancy, providing delicious and ethically responsible food experiences. We exist to service the community by providing engaging and thought provoking edible events, and also offer skill-trading events and culinary workshops that are fun, approachable, and creatively informative -- which in turn empowers and motivates indiv

iduals in their daily lives and interactions. Annabelle Choi is a designer, professional cook and pastry chef. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design from Emily Carr University of Art and Design, with a special interest in humanitarian relief projects and aid supporting objects, as well as a culinary degree from Ballymaloe Cookery School in Ireland. She spends her time asking questions that pertain to the need of an object and the symbiotic relationship between food, art, and design, while designing and cooking for a living, breathing world. Likewise, her projects are experimental, honest, and thought provoking. With credentials ranging from working under leading Chefs like Darina Allen (Ballymaloe Cookery, Ireland) and William Werner (Craftsman and Wolves, San Francisco), and forming and running Matchstick Coffee Roasters bread and bakery program, Choi concentrates on opportunities and collaborations with other like-minded trans-disciplinary industries and socially conscious clients, as she continues her culinary and sociological education by foraging in a world where food becomes the medium, and relationships, people, and story-telling continue to be the inspiration.

Our Citrus Polenta Meringue Cakes (GF) have made a return along with Spring 💛🧡🩷

Naturally gluten free, we use both a cooked and creamed Italian polenta and additional dry amount in the batter, with ground almond meal for a beautiful base to show off a rotating selection of citrus curd! Look forward to Meyer Lemon, Blood Orange, Grapfruit, Limes, and whatever other citrus we can get our mitts on 🥰

Happy Lunar New Year!! 🌕❤️🎊

Celebrating Korean Seollal is something that is fairly recent for me, as my parents tended to celebrate Jan1st New Years for us as kids to help assimilate to Canadian culture. As an adult I’ve started the layered journey of reclaiming my Korean heritage, sharing it with my community, and learning all the things that go hand in hand with having a diverse and hyphenated identity. This year also marks the 20th anniversary of my dad’s passing - we honour those who have passed during this time as well ❤️

At Annabelle’s I like to think we advocate for multicultural communities and am so grateful to the one we have found in Chinatown. Being able to join in the celebrations of the Chinese New Years has always been a precious gift since we opened on the corner of Historic Chinatown, and we hope you all come out to enjoy this year’s parade and festival on Sunday! We will be celebrating with a special Kouign Amann that we’ll share in the coming days 🎊🌟🍊
