Have a question? Have a look here at our FAQ.

Q: What is UBC Cooking Club? A: We are a student run organization at UBC that hosts cooking workshops throughout the school year for students. A member of our executive team will demonstrate how to prepare a recipe and participants break off in to groups to try and recreate the dish. Other members of the team will be present to provide assistance however they can. Our goal is to get more people interested in cooking and to teach people how to cook for themselves.

Q: When and how frequent are events? A: We are currently setting a schedule for the first 2019/2020 winter term. An icebreaker will occur at the end of September. For then on, workshops will happen at a biweekly basis until finals in December. A similar schedule is to occur during the second winter term. We do not have events during the summer terms (May to August).

Q: I don't have any experience in cooking. Can I still join? A: Of course you can join! UBC Cooking Club workshops are designed primarily for beginners when it comes to cooking. If you a more experienced cook, you are still welcome to join.

Q: Do I have to bring anything to workshops? A: We do ask all participants to pay a fee (cash only) to help cover the costs of equipment and ingredients for each event. The fee usually ranges from $8-$12, depending on the workshop. The exact amount will be posted along with other details of the workshop both on Facebook and email as the event draws near. Please also bring a take away container and utensils to eat your delicious food after cooking. Aprons are not provided, but feel free to bring your own.
