DOUBLE VISION 👀 👀
With the addition of Cyber Samurai, we've now got 3 Double IPAs kicking around. But what makes them different?
After Boombox finished hop selection at last September, we took a road trip to Northern California, Oregon and Washington State and were inspired by some amazing IPAs. Cyber Samurai is the result of all that inspiration. We went heavy on wheat and oats to create a soft, velvety mouthfeel that compliments the bold tropical flavors created by the Citra, Galaxy, and Strata combining with the Mango Madness supplied by . We get a big pineapple, pina colada character from it.
Synthwave was one of our first DIPAs, brewed way back in our days at Callister, and originally featured 7 different hop varieties, including the trial releases of Cryo hops. We have been making improvements to the recipe and the latest is the third significant variation of the recipe and features Dynaboost Citra, Citra, Simcoe and Motueka. It's a velvety smooth, stone-fruit punch with a balanced bitterness.
Still Alive celebrated our relaunch of Boombox last year, and represents new brewing techniques, new ingredients and a fresh re-start for the brewery! This one was loaded with Dynaboost Citra, Dynaboost Mosaic, Galaxy, Cryo Citra and Cryo Mosaic, giving it it a character of sweet melon, citrus, and the slightest of dankness all carried by a soft, pillowy mouthful.
