Slight change in plans. We won’t be making it out to the markets this weekend. But you can still get your market membership and get the BCB certificates.

You can find us at the trout lake Mother’s Day Pow wow tho, Sunday May 10, 11am-5pm.

Sign up for a market membership during the months of May & June and you'll get a free $5 voucher for a participating vendors' stall right then & there. You can read all about our participating vendors on our blog post on our website, but this week's featured participating vendor is BIG CITY BANNOCK!

It's a gift when food-forward people with culinary know-how and the artistry to innovate are down to share their food with the people around them. Big City Bannock is this and so much more. Big City Bannock is an Indigenous family owned business, whose lovely founders are from the Nlaka’pamux Nation. Using traditional Indigenous ingredients, like elk meat and huckleberries and constructing meals with bannock as the foundation, the Big City Bannock food truck has quickly become a beloved Vancouver favourite - even winning the 2026 Greater Vancouver Food Truck Wars! If you haven't tried 'em yet, we're excited for you.

🌿 From the land, to our hands, to our table 🌿

Growing up as a member of the Nlaka’pamux Nation, harvesting from the land isn’t just something we did — it’s who we are. These teachings were passed down to us: to respect, to gather with intention, and to give thanks for what the land provides.

Today, we spent time out on our homelands under the warm sun, harvesting wild asparagus — something our people have gathered for generations. There’s nothing like the taste of food that comes from your own territory.

This is more than food.
This is connection. This is culture. This is medicine.
