🍣 Hataru Sushi Review 🍣
Location: 11968 207th St, Maple Ridge, BC

Under new management, Hataru Sushi is now owned by a passionate woman with 10 years of experience in the sushi industry, fulfilling her lifelong dream of owning her own restaurant. With such a story behind it, we knew we had to give it a try!

🍱 Our Order 🍱
For a family dinner of eight, we went all out and ordered plenty of food, and it was more than enough! Here’s what we got:

• Party Tray A ($28.50) – 38 pieces including Crunchy Cali Roll, Dynamite, Yam, Spicy Tuna, and Alaska Roll
• Party Tray C ($48.50) – Kappa, Tuna, Salmon, California Rolls, plus 12 pieces of nigiri
• Additional Rolls – Unagi Roll, Mango Roll, and one appetizer sashimi
• Spring Rolls – A perfect crispy addition to our meal
• Plus, they threw in a Gyoza with our order as a bonus! 🥹

💵 Value & Quality 💵
All this amazing food came to just $115! The value here is incredible—similar trays at major sushi spots easily go for $60-80+, and Hataru Sushi offers it at a fraction of that cost without compromising on quality. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. This might just be my new go-to sushi spot since it’s closer and so affordable.

The only thing I’m disappointed about is forgetting to try the miso, but there’s always next time!

If you’re craving sushi and want to support a new local business, Hataru Sushi is definitely worth a visit. Can’t wait to go back and dine in!

🍳 Jimmy’s Lunch Box - 22504 Lougheed Hwy, Maple Ridge Review 🍳

If you’re looking for the perfect comfort food spot, especially on a rainy day, look no further than Jimmy’s Lunch Box! My partner and I decided to give this cozy spot a try, and we were not disappointed.

🍽️ What We Ordered 🍽️

• Bulgogi Skillet - $19: Two poached eggs, tender beef bulgogi, onions, mushrooms, and cheese all served on crispy hash browns with toast. Every bite was full of flavor, and the portions were so generous we had leftovers!
• Country Skillet - $19: Two eggs, ground beef, sautéed mushrooms, onions, green peppers, tomatoes, Swiss cheese, and gravy, also on hash browns with toast. A hearty and delicious choice.

☕ Drinks ☕

• The Caramel Macchiato was beautifully crafted and presented, while the Black Coffee was smooth and comforting. Both paired perfectly with our meal.

💲 Value & Experience 💲
For just $40, we got two incredibly filling meals that tasted like they were made with love. The portions were great, and we both had leftovers, which makes it even more worth it. The food had that home-cooked feel, and the friendly, attentive servers made the experience even better.

I’m so glad we decided to stop by—supporting local has never tasted this good! I can’t wait to come back and enjoy another delicious, comforting meal here.

Thanks, Palate Pals! 🫂

🥞 **Arthur’s Nosh Bar Review - Montréal, QC** 🥞

Hey Palate Pals! 🌟 The other day we visited Arthur’s Nosh Bar on 4621 Rue Notre Dame Ouest, a cozy Jewish restaurant that came highly recommended as one of the best brunch spots in Montréal. I was so excited to finally try their famous pancakes, and I can confidently say they live up to the hype!

🍽️ **What We Ordered** 🍽️
- **Pancakes** made with cottage cheese—these are hands down the best pancakes I’ve ever had. They were so fluffy and flavorful! We enjoyed them plain, but you can also add blueberries or strawberries, which I’ll definitely be doing next time.
- **Latkes** topped with a little bit of sour cream and horseradish. They were crispy, flavorful, and my new favorite thing!
- **Chicken Sandwich** with mixed veggies and sauce. Cooked to perfection and incredibly tasty.
- **Hash Browns** on the side, which were just as delicious.

🥂 **Drinks & Atmosphere** 🥂
We each started with a mimosa, the perfect drink to accompany brunch. The decor and overall vibe of the place were so welcoming and warm—think cozy interior with an inviting energy.

💲 **Overall Experience** 💲
In total, the bill came to around $100 for two people, including drinks and a hearty amount of food. The service was excellent—our server was attentive and the food came out quickly. This was easily one of the best brunch experiences I’ve ever had, and I’d 1000% recommend it to anyone. I can’t wait to go back!

**P.S.** I’ve highlighted what we ordered on the menu in the photos!

---

Lastly, I wanted to share a little about **Arthur’s Nosh Bar**. This Jewish-inspired restaurant is a tribute to the owners' father, Arthur, who passed down his love of food to his family. With signature dishes like crispy schnitzel on challah and latke platters, Arthur’s quickly became a beloved spot in Montréal for its comforting yet elevated takes on Jewish classics. The "bring your own w**e" option adds a unique twist, and the welcoming atmosphere makes it a perfect spot to gather and enjoy a meal.

🧀 La Raclette Review - Montréal, QC 🧀

🌟 Last night, we stumbled upon an unexpectedly fun dinner date night at La Raclette, located at 1059 Rue Gilford in Montréal. Here’s how it all went down:

🍷 A Fun Start 🍷
Our original plans fell through, so we booked a last-minute reservation online for La Raclette, one of the places we were told to visit while in Montréal. Upon arrival, we were seated outside on the patio, which was beautifully adorned with fairy lights, garden vines, and cozy heat lamps that brought the ambiance together perfectly.

We’d read online that it’s a “bring your own w**e” spot. Unsure if other drinks were available, our server kindly suggested we grab a bottle at the nearby corner store. This sent us on a fun little adventure, and we returned excited to dive into the menu.

🍽️ What We Ordered 🍽️
With so many tasty options, we had our eyes on the affogato with Kahlúa but were far too full after our main course to indulge further. The highlight of the evening was the La Pierrade all meat ($56/person), featuring a delightful selection of beef, pork, duck, chicken, sausage, and cheese of the day. It came with potatoes, vegetables, salad, and pickles, plus vegetarian options are also available.

We were also treated to a delicious soup and bread to start, which tasted like a comforting cheese broccoli leek potato concoction – the kind of feel-good soup your grandma would make at home. The bread dipped in it was a perfect pairing.

🔥 The Experience 🔥
The food was served with an impressive spread of raw meats to grill on a marble-like stovetop, paired with two sauces: a mayo-style aioli and a gravy-like sauce. We also had a whole plate of four slices of cheeses to melt, steamed veggies, and a salad with a subtle but fresh dressing. The potatoes were unlimited, cooked to perfection, and perfectly seasoned.

Our waitress was fantastic, explaining how to cook everything and recommending pairings for the sauces, cheese, and meat. She let us take a try, making the whole experience interactive and fun. She was so attentive and helpful, I’m kicking myself for not getting her name, she took great care of us.

📝Things to note before coming📝
- There is a minimum order $44 dollar per person, this might be a special occasion resturant for some at not at everyone’s price point.
- Bring your own w**e or ch*****ne!! (If you drink)
- It is cash or debit only
- Come hungry!! Portions are generous.

✨ A Perfect Night ✨
This experience was so fun, so delicious, and made for an unforgettable first dinner together in Montréal. We couldn’t have asked for a better night out!

Much more to come, Palate Pals ❤️

🍣 **Tentasu Sushi Review - Hastings & Nanaimo** 🍣

Happy Tuesday everyone! 🌟 We recently tried out Tentasu on Hastings and Nanaimo, which claims to be the "best fresh sushi in Vancouver" on their website. Here's our verdict after putting it to the test!

🍱 **Our Order** 🍱
We both went for the “Bento Box C,” and it was everything we hoped for to satisfy our sushi cravings. The box included:
- **Tempura:** Really good, not too greasy or salty.
- **Sashimi:** Two pieces each of Tai, Salmon, and Tuna. The salmon was particularly tasty and the quality was on point.
- **California Roll:** Moist and flavorful.
- **Extras:** A slice of orange, a fresh salad, and miso soup, which was among the best we’ve had (top two, for sure).

To accompany our boxes, we ordered a Red Dragon Roll, which featured spicy salmon topped with raw salmon, green onion, and tobiko. Absolutely delicious!

💲 **Value** 💲
The total came to $49 without tip, with each Bento Box at $16 and the roll at $12.95. Considering the quality and quantity of food, this is a fantastic deal – most places charge at least $20 for similar offerings of the bento.

✨ **Overall Experience** ✨
Our favorite sushi spot has been Shinobi in Maple Ridge, so we tend to compare everything to that. Tentasu definitely held its own and provided a delightful lunch experience. We totally recommend this restaurant and will 100% be back if we’re in the area. You should too!

🥪 **MUST Sandwich & Bar Review - White Rock** 🥪

Hello! 🌊 Yesterday my partner pal and I were starving during our day at the beach and stumbled upon a hidden gem: MUST Sandwich & Bar in White Rock. If you're ever in the area, be sure to stop by!

🍗 **Our Order** 🍗
I got the Korean chicken sandwich, which was absolutely delicious. Sandwiched between two fluffy slices of bread were a bit of arugula for crunch, scrambled egg that added great texture and moisture, and a juicy Korean chicken fillet topped with Japanese mayo. It was a flavor-packed bite that complemented itself perfectly.

🥓 **My Partner's Choice** 🥓
My partner had a similar setup with two fluffy bread slices, arugula, scrambled egg, crispy bacon, melted cheese, and Japanese mayo. It was super good and just as satisfying!

🍹 **Atmosphere & Experience** 🍹
The atmosphere was quiet yet inviting, with tables to sit at and pleasant decor. It's a nice place to escape the sun if that's what you prefer. Although we didn't try any drinks from their bar, the menu looked great and we’re definitely planning to go back and explore more options.

💲 **Value** 💲
Our filling and delicious lunch came to just under $25 for both of us, which I think is a fantastic deal. The service was friendly, and overall, this place is a hidden gem worth visiting. The prices are very reasonable, and I can't wait to return and try more from their menu.

🥯 **Siegel’s Bagels Review - Granville Island** 🥯

🌞 Had a delightful breakfast at Seigel’s Bagels on Granville Island and wanted to share our experience! We love bagels so much and when we happened to be downtown with a couple hours to spare we were on the hunt for a bagel and came across Siegel’s Bagels.

🦀 **Our Order** 🦀
I went with the Salmon Lox on an Everything Bagel, featuring salmon lox, capers, red onion, and cream cheese. It was absolutely delicious, especially with the touch of lemon they provided, which paired perfectly with the capers and red onions. My partner in crime had the Morning Bagel, packed with smoked meat, cheddar, and egg. It could have used a bit of sauce, like sriracha mayo, but it was still very satisfying. It got the official 👌 from my guest (a very qualified bagel judge).

👥 **Favorite Pick** 👥
We both agreed that the Salmon Lox Bagel was our favorite. The combination of flavors was just spot on!

🥯 **Bagel Heaven** 🥯
The store was bustling but offered a ton of variety, including options for vegan cream cheese. The vibrant atmosphere added to the charm of our visit.

🌞 **Perfect Setting** 🌞
It was a beautiful day, and having our breakfast outdoors by the water made the experience even better. If you haven't been to Seigel’s Bagels on Granville Island yet, I highly recommend you check it out this summer. Enjoy some sunshine, bagels, and the lovely views!

🎏 **Sushi Bucks Review - Westgate Centre, Maple Ridge** 🎏

🌟 Just had an awesome lunch at Sushi Bucks and couldn't wait to share the experience with you all!

🍱 **Lunch Special Delight** 🍱
I went for the lunch special which included my choice of a regular roll, beef or chicken teriyaki, salad, and gyozas. While I kind of wished it came with miso soup, I was really happy with my meal! I chose the Crunch Dynamite Roll, which was a tasty dynamite roll with a crunchy twist and a kick of sriracha mayo. The beef teriyaki was spot on - the meat was cooked perfectly, and the sauce was well-balanced. The salad was fresh with a typical but satisfying vinaigrette.

🍣 **Guest's Feast** 🍣
My guest opted for the lunch special (available from 11:30am - 3:30pm) for $21.95, which included a roll of choice and a side, plus miso soup. He chose the Salmon Mountain Roll, featuring cucumber, avocado, crab meat, prawn tempura, and topped with salmon mixed with spicy mayo, crispy potato strings, and two delicious sauces (wasabi mayo and teriyaki). For his side, he went with the boneless chicken which was tender and scored a 4/10 on the PP spicy scale.

⏰ **Quick Service** ⏰
Our food arrived in less than 10 minutes after ordering! The service was impeccable - our server was attentive, fast, and super friendly.

Overall, the food quality was great, and the experience was fantastic. We highly recommend checking out Sushi Bucks if you’re in the area! 🍣❤️
