VanFoodies.com - Vancouver Foodies' Adventures

VanFoodies.com - Vancouver Foodies' Adventures A Vancouver-based food blog since 2009. Eating out & home cooking. Beer & wine. Culinary events. Travel. Outdoors. Mostly local.

Joyce started VanFoodies.com in 2009 to write about one of her biggest interests: food. Since then, some of her friends have also come on board to share their food adventures as well. Whether they’re famous fine dining restaurants, neighbourhood gems, or hearty home cooking, you can read about them here. While the main focus is the Vancouver area (i.e. Lower Mainland), you will also see some trave

l posts. Don’t be surprised if you see some coverage on beer and wine – it’s always good to have a drink or two with your meal!

Save this post for your visit to the PNE / Playland 2026 because I've got food suggestions and prices for you!

Fair food is a big thing for PNE every year and it's no different this year. You will find lots of sweet and savoury mashups plus fair food staple. My favourite bites this year were the Crispy Ginger Beef Perogies International Perogies, Spamalot Mac & Cheese REEL Mac And Cheese, the garlicky Twister-Roni Corndog by Big Cocos Our Carnival-Kitchen, and the BBQ ribs The Truckin’ BBQ and Gator BBQ - West Coast. There is also an area dedicated to indigenous food makers with some really unique products like plant medicine jam TRADISH, buffalo and bison sausages and bannock . Mini donuts, poutine, hot dogs are must have at the fair, and there is now a chicken wing food truck. The PNE Fair is on now until September 7. Will you check it out?

As the soccer games come to an end this weekend, just a memory post of me taking in the festivities. Attended a bunch of watch parties across Metro Vancouver. Checked out the Granville pedestrian only area and Robson Street a bunch of times. Spent some quality time with friends and Papa Lam to celebrate the wins and get over the losses. What a summer so far and it's only the middle of July!
