Tama Organic Organic Specialty Grocery Store, Japanese specialty produce, Organic Vegan Foods like brown rice Onigiri, Vegan Bento Box, supporting local organic farmers.

We make Natto, Miso, Amazake and more...! So what's great about Tama? Other than the great family at Tama, we are all about being a part of the organic community as a whole. The concept of 'Tama' is of 'oneness in both peace and health' where people can live harmoniously with others as well as their part in nature. And so we support our dedicated LOCAL organic farmers and we bring their flavourful

foods straight to you (seasonal)! Many of our foods we carry are inspired by the Macrobiotic diet or Oriental food culture (ie. 3 year old miso, Raw soy sauce, Natto, Brown Rice, fresh Daikon with leaves and more!). Some foods may be new to you, but be adventurous and give it a try or better yet, ask us and we are more than happy to help you find a way to eat it! At Tama, we are passionate about sharing a healthy life through organic foods and gaining a greater appreciation for where it comes from, nature.

Tama's Bento menu today is our Chirashi Sushi

「chirashi」means to 'scatter' - a dish that is perfectly imperfect.

There are no real 'rules' when it comes to preparing this dish. You can arrange your chirashi sushi with any ingredient. Each ingredient is chosen for their symbolic meaning and colourful appearance. These represent abundance, joy, and the beauty of imperfections that brings harmony to life.

This dish is usually eaten to celebrate different occassions in Japan, like children's day or hinamtsuri and other festivals.

We celebrate today's Chirashi with the abundance of local produce in mind (today's sushi features red radish from our local growers at Cedar Isle Farm!)

Feeling very grateful that I get to join them even though I feel like I have done a fraction of the work they have!
