Why does modern life feel so exhausting? Building Boi Boi Studio as a second generation goldsmith has been making me realize that a lot of people are not lazy, they just feel disconnected from their own life. Disconnected from ownership, meaning, creativity, and emotionally connected futures.

The more I rebuild my life around creativity, craft, and ownership, the more I realize pressure feels different when the life you are building finally feels like yours.

As a second generation goldsmith, I’m learning that craftsmanship is not about forcing gold into place. It is about understanding how material moves, bends, and holds structure over time.

Growing up, I was often embarrassed by the name Boi Boi because it sounded unusual in English.

For years, I tried to make that part of myself smaller.

Then something unexpected happened.

The name I spent years hiding became the foundation of everything I create today.

Modern life burnout, creative exhaustion, survival mode, rebuilding your life, and freedom through creativity.

I think more people are emotionally exhausted than we admit.

Not because they are lazy.
Not because they lack ambition.

But because modern life keeps pushing people into survival mode for so long that exhaustion starts feeling normal.

Building Boi Boi Studio and rebuilding my life around creativity, ownership, and meaningful work has been making me question a lot about how we are living.

Maybe some people were never meant to spend their entire life disconnected from themselves.
