Flying Beaver in Richmond has a $22 steak and shrimp Thursday special that might be one of the best restaurant deals in the city.

Finding steak and shrimp at this price isn't easy anymore, making this one worth checking out if you're looking for a great meal without spending a fortune.

Time Out Market at Oakridge Mall is Vancouver's newest food hall with multiple restaurants all under one roof.

For my first visit, I tried Via Tevere Pizzeria, and it definitely won't be my last stop here.

This feels like one of those places where every visit could be a different experience.

Hand polishing jewelry takes longer than most people think because it's where the smallest mistakes become visible. This was one of the biggest surprises while learning to become a second generation goldsmith.

Best Dubai Chocolate Latte in Richmond BC? I finally tried The Venti's Dubai Chocolate Espiner, and it's one of the most unique coffee drinks I've had.

The Dubai Chocolate Espiner isn't a drink you're supposed to mix. Every sip tastes different as you move through the layers, starting with creamy milk, then rich espresso, then chocolate and pistachio flavors.

The only downside? I wish they offered a larger size because it disappeared way too fast.

📍 The Venti, Richmond, BC

Would I order it again?

Absolutely.

Have you tried the Dubai Chocolate Espiner yet?

Shawarma 2 Go in Richmond is known for serving the city's first crispy shawarma, so I had to try it for myself.

The crispy texture completely changes the experience and makes it stand out from a traditional shawarma.

Would you try it?

Why do goldsmiths use so many different jewelry tools?

When I first watched my dad work, I couldn't understand why one tool couldn't do everything. After learning jewelry making myself, I realized that every tool exists for a specific purpose. Some remove metal, others refine details, resize rings, or prepare a piece for polishing.

In this episode of Gold Diary, I'm sharing one of the first lessons that changed how I see a jeweler's bench.

Why do goldsmiths use a sanding disc instead of filing everything by hand?

When I first started learning jewelry making, I assumed this tool only made the job faster. As I spent more time at the bench, I realized its real purpose is consistency. A sanding disc creates cleaner, straighter, and more even edges before the next stage of finishing.

In this episode of Gold Diary, I'm sharing another lesson I'm learning as a second generation goldsmith.

Looking for the best coffee and affogato at Arabica Richmond Centre? This specialty coffee shop is worth visiting if you love high quality espresso and simple coffee done exceptionally well.

Arabica has built a reputation across Japan and Korea for serving consistently great coffee, and after trying the Richmond Centre location, I can see why.

☕ What I ordered

• Affogato
• Kyoto Latte
• Spanish Latte

📝 Field Notes

✓ Excellent coffee quality

✓ The Affogato is the must order

✓ Smooth, balanced espresso

✓ Slightly expensive, but the quality justifies the price

✓ Portions are smaller than the Whistler location, but every drink is crafted with care

⭐ Food Diary Verdict

If you're a coffee lover, this café deserves a spot on your list. The Affogato was easily the highlight, and the Kyoto and Spanish Lattes were both smooth, rich, and beautifully balanced.

Have you been to Arabica? Which would you order first, the Affogato or the coffee?

Hand engraving solid gold jewelry is one of those details most people never notice, but it completely changes how a piece feels.

As a second generation goldsmith building Boi Boi Studio, I’m learning that real craftsmanship lives in the small details, the pressure of the hand, the control, the patience, and the marks left behind.

That is the difference between something mass produced and something made with intention.

Every engraving carries a human touch that machines cannot fully replicate.
