By early June we knew we were in big trouble in our area with having less than a half inch of rain since March when the snow left. So we purchased some irrigation equipment and started watering some crops to at least insure enough silage to feed the bulls for the winter. Silage is about the only thing you can’t import.
We are very thankful we did so and it definitely paid off giving us an incredible barley crop and a second growth off alfalfa that is as good as any regrowth I’ve seen and it’s only been a month since we harvested the first cut!

Today was our second implant day, so happy to be done with all the ET stuff for another year! Want to say a huge thank you to Dr Rob Stables for making the trip all the way out here twice!
