Alright. Our social media has sucked lately. We’re busy.
So here’s the last 5 weeks in 40 second.

We’ve cut up 7 billon animals.
We’ve killed an elk and filled our own freezer.
We’ve been hunting. A lot. Target buck acquired.
Our favourite kiddos went back to school. Boo.
We’re building a new butcher shop.
We’ve had to turn away dirty carcasses.
We’ve taken in a lot of clean carcasses.
We’ve met alot of really amazing people.
We had a ton of travellers from Germany swing by.
We hired 3 new employees. Training has been going well.
Matts hands are very sore. Huge pipes though.
The farm chickens are producing eggs.
We’ve taken the kiddos hunting.
Britt broke down in Rupert. Had to get towed to Terrace.
Meeka faked sick from daycare and hung out with us.
Audrey tried her hand at making sausage. She’s good.
Britt found a puff ball the size of her face.
We’ve found alot of bullets in the wild game.
Grinder blade included.
We’ve made alot of sausage & jerky.
We’ve dabbled in the menthol ci******es. They say it helps with stress.
We’ve managed to find a work play balance that has kept us a float.
Our customers have been awesome
Our employees rock.
We’re still alive. And doing well. And loving every minute of it. Bring on the next 5 weeks!

Saying “no” doesn’t mean we don’t want your business. It doesn’t mean we’re picking favourites. It doesn’t mean we don’t like you. We have literally HEARD IT ALL this year.
It simply means WE ARE FULL.

We are a small shop that prides ourselves on good quality work. Proper hanging conditions within our facility, cleanliness, happiness, friendliness, and getting your meat back to you in a timely manner. We want a 7-10 day turn around time max. We don’t want animals hanging longer than that for various reasons.

Matt is working is ass off. The girls are wrapping like little elves on Christmas Eve, Britt’s on phone & paperwork duty. We are putting in the hours and work. All the shops across BC are putting in the hours right now.

At the end of the day, as a responsible hunter, your harvest is your responsibility. Think before you pull the trigger. Can’t get into a shop anywhere?? Better sharpen your knives and get to cuttin’.

This is an insane time of year for ALL butcher shops. Have some grace, respect and decancy.
Being an as***le isn’t going to move you to the top of the list anywhere😉

Keep up the good work, but think ahead. We have a few more weeks of mayhem ahead of us.
We should have room again in a few days.

That doesn’t work this time of year.
This is what our freezer looks like on the daily.

Picking up your meat needs to be priority.. ESPECIALLY during hunting season! If meat doesn’t leave the freezer, it creates a back up.
This doesn’t just go for us, this goes for any butcher shop. We aren’t a storage facility, we are a cut & wrap facility. Once your meat is complete, it needs to be picked up to keep the flow of the shop moving for all hunters!!

From out of town on a hunting trip? Bring freezers to store it in during the duration of your trip. Plan ahead.
Not from here?? Let’s line up shipping if you can’t make it right away.
We have options, but not picking it up isn’t one of them.

Sept 15th and we’re already turning carcasses away.
You guys, it’s hot outside and that means bad hanging conditions. Spoilage. Fly eggs. Maggots. All the things.
PLEASE, for the respect of not only us and our shop standards, but for the animal that you harvested, TAKE CARE OF YOUR CARCASS!!
We run a tight ship around here when it comes to cleanliness and we’re dam proud of it! We don’t want dirty animals in our facility or hanging beside other customers clean meat that they worked hard to keep in good condition. The things we see would blow your mind. Take the time to keep your carcass clean, or simply bring it somewhere else ✌️

We offer our skinning area BY DONATION to hunters.
If you harvest an animal and need a place to skin it out, we can hook you up!

All donations are sent to Daybreak Mental Health Society. The goal is to help create more open conversation for our fellow blue collar brothers & sisters struggling with depression, suicidal thoughts & mental health.

Congrats to Ryan Hutt on his beauty Elk this morning, and thanks for donating to a good cause!
