⚠️TRIGGER WARNING for anyone not supportive of eating rabbit**

EDUCATIONAL POST
So the other day we were trying to figure out if we wanted rabbit or quail for supper, tired of going to the grocery store to buy protein when we have some on the homestead thats just costing money in feed!

I figured this would be an interesting one to share for those who like to learn!
Not very often I get a rabbit with a super active nervous system, but in this video you can see the rabbit is fully gutted and processed but the nerves are still so active!
(The rabbit obviously does not feel any of this, we dispatch quickly and humanely). But its interesting to see how the muscles contract and move even though there is nothing there 🤯

Today was a bittersweet day.. Sangria left for her forever home this evening 🥹

For those who dont know, I bought Sangria as a minimally handled resale project in Ontario, I fell in love with her gentle demeanor and personality so decided at the time that she would come to BC and we could see where things take us. (along the way we picked up Kitkat).

Throughout the months living here, between life, work and multiple project horses, then Splash joining us with some baggage, I just could not find the time for three horses that needed extensive groundwork and training like I thought I would. And lately there has been some big life changes and things coming to the homestead where it was just not feasable to do what I wanted to do with them all, so I needed to make the very hard decision to let her go to a new home where she will get a lot more 1:1 time and get to learn the skills to be a good riding horse!

I've only had Sangria a year (this month) but she was so special to us 🥲 I really hope she thrives in her new home 💗 AND she wont be living far which is a big bonus!

Well after a couple months of quietly and patiently planning... #3 (Lanister as I called him) is hopping on a flight to Nova Scotia today!! ✈️✈️✈️
We had a few fans come up to pet the giant bunny while we waited for paperwork to be completed 🤭

Lanister was the last of the Opal litter looking for homes and I am so glad we found one for him!
