Starting August 31st, our farm-fresh eggs will be $7/dozen (up from $6). Feed costs have climbed steadily this season, and this small change helps us keep our hens happy, healthy, and free-ranging the way they deserve.

We're so grateful for this little community that supports our flock, season after season. Thank you for growing with us. 💛

Fire cider made!! This is the second year I have made this and it got me thru the inevitable back to school sick season!!

I added lemons (I added one more at the end), oranges, white and red onions, garlic, cinnamon sticks, tumeric, ginger and jalapanos (7 total, I forgot them!) and I just realized I forgot to add peppercorns! Then I covered with apple cider vinegar (with the mother) and put a couple fermenting weights on top to keep everything packed down.

Tomorrow I will add fresh oregano, thyme and rosemary (and the peppercorns!).

In 6 weeks I will strain it and refrigerate.

I was lucky enough to find some St John's wort growing in our field. I've left a good patch of it for it to go to seed but I was able to harvest enough to create an oil. So this is fresh St John's wort flowers and buds covered with olive oil.

Traditionally called "sun oil," this one breaks all the rules — full sun instead of shade, ruby red instead of green. Folk herbalists have long turned to SJW oil, sometimes called "the bruise herb" — traditionally kept in the cabinet for scrapes and tired muscles.

Steeping now, ready in 4-6 weeks.
