🌳 People sometimes ask what grows on a nut farm.

At Meadowlark Rise Farm we grow a mix of perennial crops suited to our climate in eastern Ontario. Alongside hazelnuts and heartnuts, we also grow chestnuts, Asian pears, elderberries, and other tree crops that can thrive here for decades.

Tree crops are a bit different from annual farming. Instead of replanting every year, we design systems that keep producing season after season while building soil and habitat along the way.

Every year we plant a few more trees and keep learning what works best on this land. 🌱

🎄 Meadowlark Rise Farm – Holiday Update

It still may be fall, but with snow on the ground it’s starting to feel like winter on the farm — woodstove days and the last of the prep before the deep cold arrives. We’re popping in with a couple of things we’re excited about:
