Executive Chef, Don Eyers received his initial training at St Pius X Culinary Institute in Montreal, Quebec, where he won gold in several junior chef competitions as well as being awarded the Province of Quebec’s ‘Student of the Year’ honour. Don honed his skills at a number of trendy Montreal restaurants before venturing into catering. He became the Chef at North America’s second oldest sports cl
ub, Montreal Thistle. In 1997, Don returned to his home province of British Columbia and obtained his Red Seal certification under the tutelage of Executive Chef, O’Brien Tingling, at Roger's Arena (Aramark Sports and Entertainment) in Vancouver. He soon became the Chef at Roger's Arena prestigious BC Club Restaurant (later called the Captain’s Club). Some of Don’s career highlights include catering to Queen Elizabeth during her Silver Jubilee tour of Canada, the 1998 NHL All-star game, the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympic bid media event and the opening of Qwest Stadium in Seattle. Don also catered meals for numerous celebrities and dignitaries such as; Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Billy Joel, Stuart Mclean, Bette Midler, Jean Chretien, Andre Bucchelli, Elton John, Ricky Martin and Shania Twain. Don has lived in the beautiful Okanagan valley for close to 20 years now with his family. When not creating dishes using the region’s abundant natural ingredients, Don enjoys playing soccer, camping, tending to his vegetable garden and spending time with family and friends. Don currently is running the kitchen and catering services at Vernon Curling and Athletic Club and is now offering home comfort dishes you can pick up and serve to your family.
