The Okanagan Nation Alliance (ONA) extends our thoughts and support to all Syilx Nation communities, families, and individuals affected by the Bradley Creek wildfire.

We recognize the uncertainty and challenges that come with wildfire emergencies and acknowledge the strength, resilience, and care that Syilx communities continue to demonstrate in supporting one another during this time.

The ONA is actively working alongside Member Communities, emergency management teams, and partner organizations to help ensure our Nation members have access to timely information, available resources, and supports.

“The horrors persist but so do we.”

The Bradley Creek Wildfire has ravaged our beautiful communities. Our hearts have been heavy for those affected; Okanagan Indian Band, those evacuated & on alert, the animals… there are truly no words for the devastation that has and still is occurring.

BUT, in true Vernonite & Butcher Boys fashion, we have been jumping into action to support one another – it’s been beautiful to witness & be a part of.

Here’s how WE are helping:

· We are a Registered Emergency Support Services (E.S.S.) Grocery Store.
· Supporting the Animal Auxiliary with cat food, dog food, paper towel, and water.
· Jar Donations – At each till, we have a donation jar to accept any spare change that we will direct to local fire relief efforts.
· 10% off – We are offering 10% off* to all local evacuees and first responders with I.D. There are some product exclusions*– see in-store for detail.
We plan to run this until next Wednesday, August 12, 2026.

How YOU can help:
· Monetary Donations – if you have wanted to help, but are not sure how, this is a great option. We will facilitate further donations by identifying current local needs and organizations supporting them.
· You can point your loved ones & neighbours to our incredible local resources that have assembled. To name a few…

o Offers access to pet food, crates, collars, beds, gates & some human food too!
o 9-5 Daily - See their page for the latest details
o currently in 2 locations; the downtown thrift store and in the Kal Tire Center.
They are currently located at the SW entrance, facing the new Active Living Center.
