🍅 Tomato U-Pick Update

Field Tomatoes:
There are some orange tomatoes now, but if you’re hoping to pick lots of ripe red ones, we recommend waiting until later this week.

Roma Tomatoes:
There are red ones ready to pick, but we’re also seeing lots of orange and pink ones now. If you’re hoping to pick a larger amount, waiting another 3–4 days would be best.

San Marzano:
The plants are starting to wilt, making the tomatoes easier to find and pick. You’ll often see red, orange, and green tomatoes growing on the same cluster, so please pick gently—some of the orange and green ones may easily fall off while you’re picking the ripe ones.

🌽 We also picked a little corn this morning! Come early while it lasts!

U-pick Gala apples available until this weekend! Pre-picked boxes and baskets of apples are also available at the farm stand. stock up on fresh, local apples for school snacks and lunches!

No cantaloupes, watermelons, or jalapeños.

We’re open daily from 9am - 5pm, except Mondays and Thursdays. Please bring your own bags and boxes.

WE WON’T BE AT THE MARKET TOMORROW OR FOR THE REST OF THE SEASON.

We had planned to attend the market tomorrow for our last market of the season, but unfortunately, we no longer have enough produce to bring, so we’ve decided not to attend.

We’re disappointed that we weren’t able to bring corn back to the market before the end of our corn season. It’s been growing very slowly, and we’re starting to wonder if that may be it for corn this year.

A big THANK YOU to everyone who came to see us at the market this year! ❤️ We truly appreciate your support.

Our market season may be over, but our farm stand will continue through Thanksgiving! We hope to see you at the farm.

The farm stand will also be CLOSED tomorrow.

One day may not make much difference, but we’ll update you Tuesday morning.

🍅 U-Pick Tomato Update

Good morning! Such a beautiful Sunday!

Our field tomatoes are still in a bit of a waiting period. Unfortunately, many of the ripe ones have gone bad, and it looks like the rest may need another week or so to ripen.

The good news is that thanks to the sunshine over the past few days, you can find some ripe Roma tomatoes! Gently look under the plants and weeds — some nice ones are hiding underneath. I’ve also heard there are some ripe San Marzanos hiding in there too!

There are quite a few soft or spoiled tomatoes, and sometimes you can’t tell until you touch them, so you may want to bring a pair of plastic gloves with you.

A few other updates:
• Colour peppers are very limited
• Jalapeño U-pick is finished, but we still have a small amount available at the farm stand.
• No corn today, and unfortunately it doesn’t look like we’ll have any corn to bring to tomorrow’s market either.😩

At the farm stand, we’ll have our fresh Gala apples, 100% pure apple juice made only from our apples, and garlic ready for you! 🍎🧃🧄

🍎 APPLE ORDERS ARE OPEN! 🍎

Apple season is officially getting underway at Ringo-en Orchards!

Our first variety of the season, Gala, is ready now — and U-pick has started too!

Thanks to the recent change in temperatures, our Galas have developed a beautiful deep red colour and are tasting sweet and juicy.

From here, we’ll be moving into our main apple season, with different varieties becoming ready throughout September and into early October:

🍎 Gala — Starting now
🍎 McIntosh — Starting next week
🍎 Ambrosia — End of September
🍎 Salish — Early October

22–25 lb box — $35
McIntosh — $25/box

Pick up at our farm stand 9 AM–5 PM, daily except Mondays and Thursdays.

Gala Apple U-pick starts today! 🍎

Good morning! This weekend, our selection of ripe tomatoes and peppers is limited. There are still lots of green field tomatoes, but many of the ripe red ones have gone bad because of the rain. The Romas are in decent shape, though most are still semi-ripe, while the San Marzanos are not doing as well. With drier, sunnier weather expected next week, we’re hoping more tomatoes will ripen soon. Somehow, the jalapeños are already all gone! But we still have other hot peppers available.

The watermelons and corn are also taking longer to ripen with the cooler weather, and the cantaloupes appear to be nearing the end of their season.

The apples, however, are looking wonderful! 🍎 Gala U-pick begins today, so come spend a quiet moment at the farm, pick your own apples, and enjoy the start of apple season.

We’ll also be offering samples of our apple juice, with two delicious blends for you to try. Stop by, have a taste, and let the natural sweetness of apples brighten your day! 🍎

🍎 Apple season is here! 🍎

We’ll be at the Farmers’ Market tomorrow with our freshly picked Gala apples!

They’re sweet, crisp, and full of flavour! We’re excited to have Gala joining our apple lineup as we head into September.

We’ll also be pouring samples of our apple juice, so stop by for a taste and celebrate apple season with us!

We’ll have a small selection of tomatoes and peppers too, but no corn tomorrow. We’re hoping to have another small harvest around the weekend, although corn may be pretty limited from here on out.

Come say hi and get a taste of our fresh Gala apples!

Happy September! 🍅 🍎

It suddenly feels a lot cooler out there! We finally got some much-needed rain, and the air feels so fresh and clear. Summer may be winding down, but we’re still right in the middle of our season here at the farm!

You might be getting tired of hearing us talk about U-pick tomatoes by now but we’re very thankful that the plants have given us such a great crop this year — and there are still LOTS out there! Field tomatoes, Romas, and San Marzanos are all available for U-pick!

More rain is in the forecast starting tomorrow, so if you’d rather stay dry while picking, today is a great day to come!

And now… let’s talk APPLES! 🍎🍏

Salish • Aurora*

*Honeycrisp and Aurora will be limited as we have fewer trees of these varieties.

U-pick apples will also be available for Gala and Ambrosia once they’re fully ready. Please check with us before picking apples, as not all apples in the orchard are available for U-pick.

Apple orders can also be placed by DM through Facebook or Instagram. We’ll share more details about apple orders soon!

We will NOT be at the Vernon Farmers’ Market tomorrow, Monday, August 31.

We know many of you have been waiting for corn, and we’re sorry it’s been such a challenging corn season. It’s been a tough growing season with the water restrictions, and while we’re very thankful to finally be getting some much-needed rain, the cooler temperatures and lack of sunshine have slowed the corn down again. We’re still hoping for another harvest or two before the season ends, but at this point, we just have to take it day by day.

With some sunshine in the forecast tomorrow, we’ve decided to stay at the farm and focus on U-pick tomatoes! 🍅
There are LOTS of ripe tomatoes in the field ready to be picked, so come see us at the farm!
