Meet the last animal of this 2026 SWAG - Friends of the Orchard - The Black Bear. This design celebrates one of the most iconic residents of the Okanagan.

Black bears may be solitary animals, but they share extensive travel routes and feeding grounds, creating well-worn pathways throughout the landscape. As large omnivores, they spend much of their time seeking out high-reward food sources, from berry patches to salmon runs and everything in between.

As Calista Foisy from ABNC explains, black bears are an essential part of healthy ecosystems, helping shape and maintain the natural balance around us.
When you purchase one of our Bear tees, mugs or tots, you’re not only supporting local art and local businesses - because a portion of every sale will go to ABNC, helping fund environmental education, conservation, and community programs throughout the Okanagan.

For the anecdote, Missy & Dave did see a cub in the orchard this week, at dusk, but this wonderful photo was actually taken by a lovely cidery from Lake Country. Thanks again for sharing this picture!

Summer brings colour back to Cambium 🌸

From the gardens surrounding the ciderhouse to the beautiful fresh bouquets you’ll find throughout the space, little pops of fresh flowers bring cheer and colour to our space.

This beauty is thanks to care given all year long! A shout out is due to Frances and Kim, whose dedication to the gardens keeps Cambium blooming from spring to fall, and to Danielle and Maya, who turn those fresh-picked blooms into the beautiful bouquets in the shop. We also are grateful to our neighbours at for supplying our tables with gorgeous seasonal stems!

At , every animal plays a role in our orchard, and this time, we’re shining a light on the deer!

Part of our special 2026 SWAG collection, in collaboration with .vernon Brooks Nature Centre (ABNC), this design celebrates one of our orchard’s most graceful wild neighbours and the quiet but essential role they play in keeping ecosystems balanced.

As Calista Foisy, naturalist at ABNC, explains:

“Deer act as seed dispersal and plant managers in an ecosystem. They are typically selective in their browsing, choosing sweet young saplings and plants as they are able. This can affect how forests grow, and create space for smaller and new plants to flourish. Deer are also large primary consumers — prey animals that eat plants; an important step in transferring nutrients up the food chain to larger predators.”

A portion of every sale goes back to ABNC to support their incredible work in environmental education, wildlife awareness, and helping the next generation connect with nature 🌿
