A good selection of natural predators is the sign of a healthy ecosystem. These fox snakes have become quite common on the farm. A good example of how bluffing and a good offence is sometimes the best defence. Harmless, they pretend to be a rattlesnake by shaking their tail and striking with a closed mouth.

Our bees pollinating honey crisp. Apple trees can’t produce fruit without a pollinating partner. Bees do the work of exchanging the pollen between partner trees.

We have had a repeated problem with theft in the self-serve stand at the farm in recent weeks. For this reason we can no longer accept cash. All sales are to be paid by e-transfer before leaving the property - no exceptions. No picking up for a friend unless you’re paying for them or they pay ahead. As always you can also pre-order online and choose the farm or Barrie farmers Market as a pickup location. It is unfortunate that one person has ruined this for everyone else.
