A quick update on my health status, After chemotherapy I am doing better than was expected after a laparoscopic exploratory surgery, that is the best news I have had since I began this journey in January. As I posted a few months back I have cancer that requires a specialized surgery called CRS/HIPEC. This procedure is offered in Baltimore, Maryland by the world renown surgical oncologist Dr A Sardi. I was originally scheduled for Aug 6th but due to complications from chemotherapy, surgery was delayed to Sept 3rd, that surgery was canceled because I had managed to catch a cold the night before. Sept 26 is the new date! With the two required laparoscopic procedures, one night in the hospital on top of the pre-paid CRS/HIPEC surgery, travel and accommodations we are way over our $200,000 CDN estimate. BC Healthcare will not provide any financial assistance or support.
