This morning, a calm stroll turned into a quick panic as I walked the Pinot Noir blocks at Prohibition Vineyard at 6:00am 🍇🥂

But then—good news! Our Pinot Noir clone 828 is doing incredibly well this year. Like… really well.

It may be the earliest harvest on record, and if this keeps up, we could be blowing 2023’s vintage out of the water.

A lot of it comes down to the season:
Mild winter** set us up nicely
Early bud break** got things moving
A hot, dry summer has the fruit where we want it

And we’ve been so blessed—no major issues, no drama in the vineyard… and fingers crossed it stays that way. We’re especially grateful we’re not dealing with smoke taint, and I truly feel for all the BC wineries that weren’t so lucky this year.

Now it’s officially countdown time. That also means our tasting room may close a little sooner than expected, since we’re a small boutique winery—so Ashley (who works full-time in the tasting room) is about to trade the comfy walking shoes for her winemaking pants and head into the cellar. 🍷

One of my favourite jobs at the winery is checking on how the wine is aging in bottle before we release. Our 2025 Rosè is incredible and I can’t wait to release next year!
