I’m in the midst of the wonderfully meditative stockinette section that is perfect for all of the must-see tv that has been dropping lately. Really happy with the beautiful reddish dark brown colour of this wool, and the lightness of the fabric. Fi*****ng weight sweaters are such a long labour of love, because the wool is so thin, but I will get a lot of wear out of it.

So instead of sewing a two-inch seam on my Mossblossom Shawl, I procrastinated and started the back ribbing panel of my Weekender Light sweater. I’ll force myself to finish that shawl today, because I’m feeling that bubbly buoyant feeling when you start accomplishing things.

I’m now on the 10th repeat of a 12-repeat pattern and I can see the finish line. The lace pattern looks complicated but it’s easy to memorize, and the bobbles are so fun! So looking forward to completing this shawl, finally getting my works in progress done and frogging some of my unsuccessful knits.

I’m working through my fourth panel of the lace pattern of my Mossblossom Shawl and it finally looks like something! The bobbles are new to me, but easy once you get the hang of them. So far so good!

The last time I put down the needles was sometime in March, before my house was staged and sold. I told myself that I wouldn’t indulge in any knitting until my stuff was fully unpacked in my new condo, but I got the itch a little early. So we’ll see how this goes!

I’ve had a busy week so progress has been slow, but noticeable on my Quesnel Cowl. It’s now got an asymmetrical shape with a stockinette section on the left hand side, and I am seeing the vision.

Working away on my Quesnel Cowl on a rainy Sunday afternoon. The textured pattern takes some focus, but I can still knit and watch Dateline at the same time.

For some reason, the original collar wasn’t looking right, so I decided to frog it a bit and make my preferred doubled up collar. The result is a little Shakespearean in appearance, and completely different from the designer’s vision.

But who cares, really. I knew I wouldn’t wear it if I kept it as is, and I am happy with this bulky vest. It’s perfect for working from home, as I get cold in my little office!

I’m midway through my Traveler Cowl, which won’t lay straight on my circular needles. I’ve been sick for the past few weeks, so it’s imbued with NeoCitran and Dateline. I chose the lightweight option for this cowl, with lots of stitches and fiddly work. It photographs purple but it is actually a beautiful merlot colour with hints of blue, and it’s going to be a great addition to my mild winter wardrobe.

My Compass Sweater is finally done just in time for a slight cold snap. I’m happy that I used an a-line option so that it would fit over my hips better than a straight silhouette. I hate when sweaters are loose around my midsection and tight on my hips.

My Antler Pullover is in the final stages now, I just need to seam the underarms, weave in the ends and potentially block. It’s been a long journey with this one, because I messed up my stitch count, and had to start over. Needless to say, the cables look wonderful, and it is a perfect marriage of pattern and wool.
I’ll share another photo when it is finished, because I hate sharing photos of myself wearing unfinished sweaters with the ends hanging down.

This sweater has a bit of an unusual construction, because you start with the sleeves and work your way up the torso. The neckline will be a series of cables, so you finish the sweater with the most technical aspect of it.
Overall the pattern is easy to follow, even though it is a different order of operations! I picked the wool and sought out the perfect pattern to use it, so I am excited to see how the cables look with this colour and texture.
