September! The best month for blackberries. 😋

When I planted these a couple years ago, I had no idea what adventures I was in for. I knew almost nothing and I'm learning as I go. One thing is for sure... my obsession with these blackberries is going to overtake my life. They are SOOO GOOD ripe off the vine! If you've only ever had store-bought berries, you have no idea what you are missing.

What a great year for chokecherries! These 2 mature trees are in my yard but don’t worry, I planted a bunch in the U-pick orchard too.

Why chokecherries? Because they make the absolute BEST jelly. 😋 Also, the dark purple/red foliage on the trees are stunning!

In 2023 we transplanted over 600 boyne raspberry canes from my garden out to the orchard. 2 years later, they are thriving in their new space and I’m rewarded with berries for breakfast.

Those 600 will turn into thousands in a few more years. Enough for everyone else to enjoy when we open to the public.

I also went foraging today to find wild saskatoons to give you a size comparison (before I baked them all into muffins) 😋
