As of June 30th Carmen Corner Meats is permanently closed.
We are so grateful for the support and well wishes we have received from all of our customers especially in the last couple of months as we have geared up to gear down.
Our success as a business has also been possible due in part to the relationships developed with our quality employees we have had the pleasure of working with these 20+ years.
A huge thanks to Lorraine, Oliver, Devon, Colin, Jennifer, Don A, Sam & Reno, and our daughter Rachelle who has been our quality control expert for the last 10 plus years.

Local Business Closing

After 22 years in the meat processing business, we are officially closing our doors as of June 30, 2026.

We have worked diligently and done our best to supply Saskatoon, surrounding communities and our local community of Waldheim with quality pork products and greatly appreciate the relationships formed with our customers throughout the years. Thank you for your support and trust.

If you would like to stock up on your favourite products before June 30, please let us know by June 1. We will do our very best to fill all orders however, please note that stock may be limited. You can contact Don Friesen @ 306-945-7535 or email to: [email protected] to make an order and arrange pickup.

Though we are closing our doors, Carmen Corner Meats is still For Sale. If you or anyone you know would be interested in the business, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Steep Hill has always had a focus on sourcing as much of our inventory as locally as possible. Currently we have almost two dozen Saskatoon and Saskatchewan based suppliers with product in store, selling everything from fresh baked gluten-free bread (Casita Kitchen Foods) to hot sauce (Pueblo Chili Co.) , frozen chicken, beef, (Original Family Farm) and pork products (Carmen Corner Meats) , fresh basil and mini cucumbers (Floating Gardens), and local carrots, potatoes, and parsnips (Simpkins Market Garden), and more!

We also aim to carry Canadian products when and where possible. For minimal waste cleaning and care, we've got MYNI and The Unscented Company, organic milk comes in from Avalon Dairy, while organic, fairtrade coffee is courtesy of Level Ground. Vegan options are available from Big Mountain Foods, Daiya Foods, Earth's Own, and Gardein. We stock Crofter's Organic jam, Just Juice juices, Dunya Harvest canned beans, and Nature's Path Organic cereals.

If there's a Canadian company or product you'd like to see in store, let us know! We can't guarantee we'll be able to bring in everything that's suggested, but we will take a look and see what's possible.
