I was feeding the pigs out back in the field and hopped over the fence to check on their summer pasture. In early May we planted a mix of clovers and kale for the pigs to graze in August and September . The purple flower is the phacelia we included to feed our pollinators. All of the plants are doing very well!

I should add that this will be most of the pigs diet when they are grazing this pasture. Healthy and nutritious for them, and it makes a healthier and more nutritious pork for us. It even benefits the environment. Win win win!

Drop by our booth at the Pugwash Farmers' Market today. We have FRESH whole chicken, spatchcock, and sausages. Perfect mains for a warm meal on a cold weekend. Lots of pork, beef, and eggs as well

Drop by the Pugwash Farmers' Market to see us. We have lots of fresh and frozen beef, chicken, pork,and lamb. We have a variety of sausages and new this year, sausage patties. They are quick to cook and make an awesome sandwich with an egg on an English muffin.
