Hi Everyone,
This is , a recent graduate from the University of Waterloo. It was a very heartwarming experience for me to see Canadians come together after the announcement of US tariffs.
In an effort to giving Canadians the option to choose local products with ease, my friend, Rikhi and I, have created the site, www.beavermade.ca
You can scan your products by taking a picture while you are at the store, or add one from your gallery. Our system will tell you if the product is Fully Canadian, Manufactured in Canada by a US Entity or Non Canadian. If your product is Non Canadian, or Manufactured in Canada by a US Entity, our system will suggest you with Alternative Canadian Products. You can see a full demo at the following links in the comments. You can also search for generic products (like coffee or tea) and it will generate a list for you recommending Canadian brands. You can also check the ownership of a Company or a service like Fedex, UPS etc.
We have made this site completely free (even no sign ups or logins). This is an effort and a gesture from our end to stand together with the community and help make Canadians’ lives a bit easier. We want all your feedback, support and help to improve this project.
The project is still in early stage. Hence, we will highly appreciate any feedback, suggestions or ideas and will work tirelessly to improve this project. We will post regularly on the bulletin board to keep you informed about our updates.
