Questions
1. Why cook?
Here on the farm my family has always celebrated good things around a home cooked meal. Having farm fresh local ingredients just makes it better.
2. What are we celebrating?
I don't know, what are you celebrating? Maybe we are just celebrating Friday, a smoke free sunny day, and that we are still here and ok despite the fires around us. We still haven't heard really all the devastation these wildfires have caused. Hopefully they will be controlled soon.

Wednesday, August 12 and blue skies!

This is good news farm family!

We know the smoke from our local fires can return quickly so we are enjoying this clean air while we can!

Upick Italian Prune Plums starts today as well as today will be the last day for cleaning up the rest of the Upick Peaches. We still have plenty of prepicked peaches available to buy this week.

FYI
We still have our Cherry Case sale ongoing. 20 lb cases of sorted, hydrocooled Staccato Cherries are $60 while supplies last.
Next week we will be starting to close at 5 pm instead of 5:30 pm but still opening at 8 am.

Here are a few tips from Mr Griffin when you come to pick your peaches on Monday.
1. Remember that once you pick the peach it is yours, so take your time to pick the best ones
2. Be gentle while picking the peaches. If you squeeze or drop your peaches the bruises will show up on them later.
3. Size and colour are the criteria for a good peach. First look for the biggest ones, and then make sure the big peach has a nice red and yellow colour all the way around. Not green. Peaches do continue to ripen after you pick them if you leave them at room temperature. But if you pick them too green, they will not reach full sweetness.

- We are planning for U-pick Glo-haven freestone peaches on Monday!
- In the store we have cherries, peaches, apricots, gold plums and peach plums for sale!
