Oooo, seeds!!! A great opportunity to stock up and learn as well.

Planning your garden this spring? 🌱

The Perth & District Union Public Library has reopened its annual seed library, offering residents a chance to pick up seeds for their home gardens.

A seed-saving workshop is also planned for April 21, with participants encouraged to return seeds in the fall to help sustain the program. Link in the comments for details.

Well, we can now confirm that we come by our 'trade' honestly. Frank had mentioned around the time he started to 'apprentice' with some kind neighbours over a decade ago, that he remembers his family (Cornwall area) cooking syrup over a fire as well (or perhaps he had seen this very picture that we recently found buried in a box of old family photos). It felt so good to find this photographic connection to a family tradition.

Wishing we knew a bit more about the people in this scene, but will continue to search and share any updates. In the meantime, we'll just enjoy what looked like a fun day out in the bush.

Happy 10th Gotcha Season to the loveliest of farm dogs, Rhea. She arrived during sugaring time 2016. Lots of grey hairs and a middle-aged belly, but still as sweet as ever.
