The mountains are changing. Is your pack ready?
It might still feel like summer in the city, but up high, the seasons are already shifting.
September can bring warm afternoons, freezing evenings, rain, fog and even snow at elevation.
Before your next hike or overnight trip, remember to pack for the conditions, after sunset and not just what you feel at the trailhead:
• Extra warm layer or puffy
• Toque + gloves
• Waterproof shell
• Headlamp + backup power
• Keep electronics dry and protected
• Enough water & food for unexpected delays
• A little extra fuel can go a long way if plans change
The mountains can change faster than you expect. Pack for the hike you planned, and the one you didn't.
Stay prepared. Stay fueled.
