Oyster lovers, this is a BIG one.

On September 29, we’re welcoming Patrick McMurray — aka Shucker Paddy — World Oyster Shucking Champion, 4x Canadian Champion and 3x Guinness World Record holder to Dish Play for an incredible hands-on evening.

Oyster 101: Shuck School with Patrick McMurray is your chance to learn from one of the most accomplished oyster experts in the world.

You’ll:

🦪 Taste East Coast vs. West Coast oysters
🔪 Learn how to properly shuck from a World Champion
🌊 Discover how origin affects flavour, texture and salinity
🍋 Learn to make sauces and mignonettes that complement different oysters
👃 Learn how to really taste and appreciate what’s on the half shell

Whether you already LOVE oysters or you’ve always wanted to learn more about them, this is going to be such a fun night.

The Best of Durham: Cooking Series brings together a curated lineup of standout local food brands, each leading their own class and sharing the products and processes behind what they do.

These are the businesses people actively seek out, order from, and keep coming back to.

Each class is a hands on and guided experience where guests learn directly from the makers, work through key techniques, and experience the product in a more immersive way.
