We are once again working with the Surrey Eagles Hockey Club - we love this partnership with this fabulous local, family owned and operated organization.

This Thursday we will be hosting an event where season-ticket holders will pick up their ticket packages - games are right around the corner.
Billets will also be coming by as we acknowledge their generosity to helping out the club.
If you fit into either of these categories - perhaps both? - we will see you then.

If you are interested in getting tickets, and/or getting involved with the organization, or just meeting those who are a part of it - players and staff will be in attendance - you can drop by to chat and check things out.

In what has been a fantastical 13+ year ride with this business, this latest happening is certainly among its trippiest.

Mom worked for 40+ years at the Head Office of White Spot on Marine Drive. She met Colonel Harland Sanders (there is a picture of them together), when Kentucky Fried Chicken - not KFC as it is called now - was a part of the stable with White Spot. This happened because White Spot founder Nat Bailey - who mom was on a first name basis with - owned several Kentucky Fried Chicken franchises in British Columbia alongside his iconic drive-in restaurant chain. When mom retired from there they put a sign up in the parking spot she occupied all those years.
Growing up, we probably ate as much at White Spot as we did at home.
My first job, and my brothers, was at White Spot.

And now to the trippy connection - our beer (Peace Arch Pilsner) has just been tapped at the White Spot on 152nd and 17th, at Semiahmoo Mall.

Somewhere, mom is getting a kick out of this for sure :)

White Rock's 6th annual beerfest is right around the corner, and we can't wait to be there taking part in the festivities - this is always a fantastic afternoon by the waterfront.

Hockey season is right around the corner, and we will be back partnering with the Junior A Surrey Eagles of the BC Hockey League.
There will be a new label on their cans this season, paying homage to their championships throughout 35 years in the league.
Look for these beauties when you are checking out the action at the South Surrey Arena.

The boys from Little Mountain are on a roll at the Little League World Series. With yesterday's 5-1 win over South Korea, their record stands at 3-1, and sets up a showdown versus perennial powerhouse Japan.
Game time is 2PM this afternoon. If you'd like to watch it, we'll have the game on at our joint. And as with all contests Canadian, we'll be offering our tasty, refreshing Leaf Lager on special.
Drop into the tasting room/lounge to help support the boys.

The Barnside Harvest Festival returns for its fourth year at Paterson Park in Ladner, BC, running Friday, September 11 through Sunday, September 13, 2026. Now one of the Lower Mainland's fastest-growing community music festivals—with nearly 80,000 attendees since its launch—this year's event raises the bar by presenting two headline acts each night for the first time in the festival's history. Friday features Marianas Trench and JJ Wilde, Saturday brings Smash Mouth and Big Wreck, and Sunday closes out the weekend with Canadian legends Tom Cochrane and Kim Mitchell. Spread across three stages, the lineup spans rock, country, alternative, roots, and beyond, with over 40 recording artists performing across the three days.

Beyond the music, Barnside Harvest Festival offers a full community experience with 20 food trucks, 100 artisan vendors, a BC Craft Beer Corner featuring up to 30 breweries on Sunday, and a family zone. Tickets are available at barnsideharvestfest.com, with a newsletter presale running April 14–17 offering $10 off GA and VIP 3-day passes, followed by a general public Early Bird on-sale starting Friday, April 17 at 8 AM.
