The health of the soil relies on a symbiotic relationship with the chickens, turkeys, and crops that share the garden space. The garden is nurtured using certified organic and ecologically conscious methods. We use environmentally friendly systems such as drip irrigation, composting, green manures & reusable materials. We minimize waste and off farm inputs & use of petro powered machinery. All of
our starts are grown plastic free – using soil blocks. We use certified organic seed when available & never use treated or GMO seed. Bart Bounds, steward of the farm, is joined by his partner, Kate Mechan, and their childen Juniper and Fray. Eager friends, staff, and volunteers all help to support the farm and keep it running smoothly. Philosophy:

Known locally for our delicious salad greens, we also grow:
• root vegetables;
• cooking herbs;
• medicinal plants;
• edible flowers; and
• cabbage, kale, & broccoli. We like to experiment so every season brings surprises and this year’s greenhouse will enable us to offer more variety.
